Allina Health's Penny George Institute for Health and Healing offers integrative therapies to many new moms before, during and after delivery. Therapies include acupressure, acupuncture, massage, relaxation techniques, guided imagery and more.
For women experiencing high-risk pregnancies, our goal is to increase the expectant mom’s length of stay to prevent, as much as possible, pre-term birth. These patients receive dedicated services from a clinical nurse specialist with board certification in holistic nursing.

Water birth is the process of giving birth while immersed in a tub of water. Water birth is available to women who meet certain criteria and sign consent forms that are provided to health care providers and midwives. During labor, the mother is in a cushiony tub of warm water that can help her relax and manage pain. At birth, the newborn is lifted out of the water. Water birth delivery is available at:
